IRA Rollover - Don Taft

"Anita and I changed our giving to Wingate University this year in a significant way. We have a required minimum distribution from an IRA, which must be taken each year. This past January, our financial provider calculated what that distribution would be for this year and we directed our plan administrator to send checks directly to Wingate University and our church. It was easy. We gained a valuable tax advantage by lowering our annual gross income, and no tax was deducted from the payment to our charities. We urge all annual givers who are in a similar position to give in this manner. We feel our dollars really go further to help Wingate's and our church's missions."
